THE GREAT ECLIPE OF 2017. TAKEN WITH A CAMERA AT SAINT ANTHONY, IDAHO. CAME AWAY WITH MANY GREAT PHOTOS (AND ONE NOT-SO-GREAT SPEEDING TICKET). RED OBJECTS ARE SOLAR PROMINENCES
TIME LAPSE OF AUGUST SOLAR ECLIPSE. I PROCESSED THIS PHOTO AND TOOK THE PHOTO IN THE CENTER. THE VARIOUS PHASES OF THE SUN AND MOON BEFORE AND AFTER TOTALITY WERE PHOTOGRAPHED BY MY GOOD FRIEND TONY SALVATORE.
M31. ANDROMEDIA GALAXY
HORSEHEAD NEBULA AND FLAME NEBULA
M51. THE WHIRLPOOL GALAXY.
M42. THE ORION NEBULA.
BUBBLE NEBULA.
M16. EAGLE NEBULA WITH "PILLARS OF CREATION" AT THE CENTER.
M20. TRIFID NEBULA.
HORSEHEAD NEBULA
PLEIADES STAR CLUSTER. ALSO KNOWN AS THE SEVEN SISTERS.
NGC 891. THIS IS A PHOTO OF AN EDGE-ON GALAXY WHICH APPEARS AS A THIN DISK. VERY DIFFERENT THAN M51 OR M31 WHERE YOU SEE THE GALAXY AT AN ANGLE.
TELESCOPE "AIMING" AT MILKY WAY.
PELICAN NEBULA
PARTIAL SOLAR ECLIPSE ON 10/23/2014
BLOOD MOON (TOTAL LUNOR ECLIPSE). 2015. Only about 98 percent of totality in California which is why the entire moon is not red.
CRESCENT NEBULA
COMET LOVEJOY. January 5, 2014. I took this photo remotely from my home using my telescope in my observatory 75 miles away. It only took five years and countless dollars to buy the equipment and figure out how to do this.
